Recently we’ve spent a couply days in Mt Hutt/methven shredding a bit of slush and skating the indoor skate park in the evening. This web series will take you behind the scenes of the making of ‘Made you Look’ an Australian / NZ snowboard film. Sorry about the delay there seemed to be a constant mix between unavailablity and bad weather over the past two weeks but we managed to get one done and theres still a fair few to come so stay posted! The third and final day from the heli challenge was the V n C Downhill. Prety straight forward, first one to the bottom wins – was a fairly short event but after the race crew found the sickest windlip with an endless landing so a session went down and many a double back was thrown – maybe a little too many for my liking.. After that it was down to the Makoroa jetboat and back to home base. All in all an epic 3 days.. click image above for video..
Day 2 of the Heli Challenge was big mountain day. We got dropped off in easily the best terrain i’ve ever seen in NZ. Felt like I was in North America but we’re only 10 minute heli ride from hawea .. endless shoots hits and lines to be had and the bowl got sessioned all day long.. Luckily I was shooting from the top so got a sick run down as well .. Judges blair and Sam got close to first tracks down and probably would have one the snowboarding division if they we’re judged! click image above for video…
I’ve spent last week at the heli challenge based out of hawea. 3 epic days of heli, bluebird skies, perfect snow conditions; not much more you could ask for from an event.. Some crazy stuff went down especially from the skiiers, it would have been nice to have had a few more snowboarders there but hopefully next year they will flock.
